$173 Million in Madoff Check Reportedly Found

"Pressing the case that the disgraced financier Bernard L. Madoff should have his bail revoked, prosecutors said in court documents on Thursday that investigators found 100 signed checks worth $173 million in Mr. Madoff’s desk that were ready to be sent to family and friends on the day of his arrest."

I don't understand how this guys is not in jail right now? And just how evil a person is he anyway? Dude, your caught, it's over.

Oh, and then there is the this gem from Madoff's lawyer in response to the accusations that his client sent $1 million worth of personal items to family:

"At a hearing on Monday, a lawyer for Mr. Madoff, Ira Lee Sorkin, told Judge that many of the items were relatively inexpensive, including $25 cuff links and $200 mittens."

Really??? $200 mittens are "relatively inexpensive". This guy makes Jeff Skilling look sympathetic.
